Beginning the Journey (Clip 3 of 3)

In the final clip associated with the Al Otro Lado lesson plan, Magdiel, who lives in Mexico, finds someone who will help him illegally cross the border to the U.S. and begins his journey. Ask students to imagine themselves in Magdiel's situation, and then write a paper from Magdiel's perspective. Have students draw from class discussion and/or research on illegal Mexican immigrants in the U.S. to shape their papers.
