I think that America was created with the most idealistic of intentions but that somewhere along the way (the 18th-19th century), we lost track of what America was supposed to be founded on: equality for all citizens became the Mason/Dickson line, the declared rights of all Americans were botched and altered accordingly as the gov't saw fit, and the American Dream rapidly became the materialistic pursuit of money, property and fame. Though I do feel we have strayed away from the former morals and guidelines
