Painting the Portraits (Clip 1 of 2)

In the first clip associated with the Belarusian Waltz lesson plan, performance artist Alexander Pushkin paints one of his twelve portraits of "historical heroes." All of his subjects have been marked as traitors by the Belarusian government. Students should discuss what the people in the paintings symbolize to Pushkin.
