POV’s series producer Yance Ford announces the Call for Entries for the 2011 broadcast season and beyond. Read on to learn how to submit your film!
I am happy to announce that the Call for Entries for the 2011 POV Season is officially open! We’re looking for documentary films of all lengths (send in your short films!), aesthetic approaches and points of view. Our competitive screening and evaluation and evaluation process may take awhile, but it’s thorough, fair and set up to absorb the 1000 or so entries that will arrive over the next month.
You’ll notice that we’ve made the CFE form MUCH short that in previous years. There are now four sections rather than eight, and we’ve pared down the info we ask for at this stage of the submission process. You must register a new user name and password — sorry, we don’t have the server space to preserve information from year to year. And to make your life easier, you should add the email address cfe[at]pov.org to your address book. A note to those of you who use EarthLink spam blockers: please make sure you give cfe[at]pov.org clearance, permission or whatever magic touch is necessary to get through to your inbox. Otherwise your access to the online system will be delayed.
We’ve put together a short video to walk you through the CFE process. Click here to watch — you’ll be amazed at how simple it is. As always, we encourage questions through either our cfe[at]pov.org email or 212-989-8121 x380. The volume of calls and emails is pretty high, so please be patient, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
