In the next #docchat, ask your questions about documentary filmmaking tools and equipment! Filmmakers and educators Duy Linh Tu and Caleb Pike will be providing demos of gear for documentarians in a live video chat, and they’ll be taking your questions. The chat will take place on POV’s Google+ page on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 12:30-1:30 PM ET (9:30-10:30 AM PT) soon after we release the results of POV’s 2013 Documentary Filmmaking Equipment Survey earlier that morning.

Who: Duy Linh Tu is a Professor and Director of Digital Media at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He is a co-founder and the Creative Director of Resolution Seven, a documentary and commercial production house, and also works as a cinematographer, photographer, writer and multimedia consultant. Caleb Pike is a camera operator, editor and podcaster based in Chicago. His experience branches from documentary and commercial, to film and educational material. In 2010, Caleb started DSLR Video Shooter where he podcasts, writes reviews, and shares tools and techniques for filmmakers.

What: The panelists will provide demos and offer answers to filmmakers’ questions about documentary filmmaking gear and software.
