This March, American Promise filmmakers Joe Brewster and Michele Stephenson were invited by the Ariel Foundation International to attend the 25th Session of Human Rights Council at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, where they participated in a panel on “The Right to Education.” The session featured clips from the film, followed by a discussion on the educational experiences of African American boys, and the impact of implicit bias on the right to equal education for marginalized groups everywhere.
