Some know me as the author of The Tapir’s Morning Bath: Mysteries of the Tropical Rain Forest and the Scientists Who Are Trying to Solve Them. Named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year in 2001, Tapir is about the strange and wonderful world of scientists working at a biological research station on a tiny Panamanian island.
