In this clip from the Calavera Highway lesson plan, two Mexican-American brothers revisit the fields they worked in as children and recall their mother's ability to unite workers and resist harsh conditions. They remember their own political activism in the student walkout in 1968 to protest conditions at Edcouch-Elsa High School. Students should discuss how to connect family experiences to history.
