What are your opinions on bullfighting?
Did your filming change your attitudes for or against it in anyway. Do you think that showing women struggling to make a name for themselves in a male dominated sport will endear more people to it? Was that your focus?

Technical Question
Congratulations and thanks on a very well done documentary.
Question: Could you please tell me a little about the technical aspects of making this film? What type of camera and what format did you shoot? What system did you use to edit the film and how did it work for you? Any details would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Audience
Hi Gemma and Celeste,
I could connect with your documentary because of my experience living with a host family in Seville, Spain, and attending a bullfight. I know that some people there are very biased, and definitely would not care about someone like Mary Paz. Does PBS air any of their shows in Spain? Has this show been aired? I don't remember there being a public station in Spain, but it would be so interesting to observe the effect of this being aired there.
Thanks for offering this educational perspective!

Identifying Mary Paz Vega as the only female bullfighter in the world is wrong, in fact there are several women who are right now novilleras (the same category as Vega) and at least one who is a full fledged matador which Vega has not achieved yet. In fact this Sunday September 6th the world's largest bullring in Mexico City will feature a bullfight with 3 women, one of them, Hilda Tenorio has been bullfighting for several years.

love the documentary love the music
I studied in Spain for a year and have always loved the bullfights. There is something about the power of the human (I used to think "man") facing off against the power of a bull. Your documentary showed the audience so much about the toreros and the art of the fight, there is something inexplicable about it -- it captivates you and draws you in.
The music in this documentary was also FANTASTIC, and I am interested in getting a copy of it -- I was unable to locate the music at the composer's web site. Is it possible to get a CD?
Thanks so much for making this documentary -- it is truly a work of excellence.

teacher
From a teachhing perspective, everything about the film was excellent, showing the feelings of the men and women in this filed, the reality of the career, the photography etc etc but why prosititute EVA? Why show her naked? Does every film producer lust at the fact of showing the person they are filming naked? She is still young and her parents were not near her to help make this decision. You won acclaims but EVA was the loser here. I really believe you took advantage of her. Hopefully your next film will also be authentic, maybe of a flamenco dancer, but forget the nudity. We want to show these films in class and it makes it hard for us to that.
