In this first clip associated with the New Muslim Cool lesson plan, Hamza Pérez talks about moving from Massachusetts to Pittsburgh as part of a Muslim community, and meeting his now-wife, Rafiah, online through a Muslim social networking website. Rafiah says that communicating online before they met in person allowed her to ask Hamza important questions about his intentions. Students should think about how they felt as they watched Hamza and Rafiah's story.
