This site was inspired by the film Jesses Gone, broadcast June 24, 1997 by P.O.V. on PBS. Jesses Gone is a documentary about a young hip hop artist from East Oakland, Jesse Rahim Hall, who was killed in a drive-by shooting. The film focuses on Jesses friends and family as they struggle to make sense of his death. We dedicate this site to the young people like Jesse whose lives have been cut short by violence and to the family and friends they leave behind. Please share your story, music or artwork. Heres how to contribute. Navigating this Website The artwork on this site has been created by young people around the United States. To view their work, click on any box on the home page mural.
