Meet the Girls: Amber

Amber and her mother got into an argument on her 16th birthday, which ended with Amber leaving home. 5 GIRLS shows Amber's strength and resilience as she tackles school, relationships (with twenty year old Anton, who is under house arrest), and living in less than perfect circumstances.

Where is she now?

It's been two years since the last scenes were shot in 5 GIRLS. Find out how Amber is faring in this interview with her.

P.O.V.: What have you been doing since 5 GIRLS completed shooting?

Amber: Since the film was completed I have been attending university in Illinois. Now I am a sophomore there, and enjoying every minute of it! I am currently working at a great law firm for the summer. At school I work at the late night dances. That job is cool 'cuz I just go to parties and chill but I get paid to do it. I am thinking about studying criminal law because of the inspiration of all of the lawyers at the firm I work for.

P.O.V.: Discuss some of the successes and challenges you experienced during the making of 5 GIRLS and how you have dealt with them.

Amber: The success that I have faced while making the film is now I am famous and it is cool for people to know and recognize me.

The issues that I have dealt with while making the movie are my boyfriend, Anton, and my family. The movie will explain these issues more. The issues that I am dealing with now are the same as in the movie, but I have matured a lot so I don't always make the same mistakes I did before. But sometimes I do. But I am human, and I think with my heart first on the two issues mentioned above and not with my mind. And my heart clouds my vision most of the time.

The thing that I have learned regarding relationships with my family and boyfriend is: don't listen to my first decision because that is always my heart getting in the way. I now listen to my mind and logical reasoning. But the most important thing that I have learned is the past surely does repeat itself, and not to always get sucked into things because I love someone.
