Autism Society of America
This site features a free online learning course about autism. The current cover story of their newsletter, The Advocate, focuses in on mothers' experiences of autism. This site also includes links to resources by state and listings of advocacy events.

The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism
The foundation's mission is to aid financially disadvantaged families who need assistance in caring for their children with autism; to fund education and research into childhood autism; and to serve as a clearinghouse and communications center for new programs and services developed for individuals with autism. Be sure to check out the listings of upcoming seminars and lectures on autism in the "Resources" section.

Autism Research Institute
The Institute was founded and is directed by Bernard Rimland, the father of an autistic child and the child-psychology expert who first theorized about the neurological causes of autism. Look for the extensive list of ARI publications on autism-related topics and the important materials on accurate diagnosis.

Cure Autism Now
Cure Autism Now (CAN) is a non-profit coalition of parents, clinicians, and scientists and is the largest private funder of autism research. The site includes information on the latest scientific breakthroughs and research, political activism taking place around autism, as well as links to resources and a newsletter.

National Alliance for Autism Research
NAAR's website is predominantly research-based and includes extensive listings of links to autism sites and research articles. Check out their legislative alert for up-to-date news on current policy issues.
