Kanani Fong is a mid-life mililtary wife. A writer for twenty years covering fashion, health care, literature, books, and writing, she deftly chronicles the war, Afghanistan, and military life on her blog, The Kitchen Dispatch. Most recently, she was the military outreach liaison for the war documentary, Restrepo. Prior to her husband joining the Army, they ran a much-loved and respected private surgery practice in Los Angeles County.
