Lourdes Portillo, in Señorita Extraviada, presents the story of these crimes, unearthing clues that reveal a culture of complacency among the government and civil officials. In this 2002 interview, she talks about the difficulties she faced in trying to solve this mystery, as well as the silence and fear she followed in order to discover new clues.
