This is a format to show allowable placement and order for various packaging elements. Your program may not necessarily contain all these elements. Please discuss format elements with your Program Management contact.

***PBS must approve all formats prior to final picture lock***

**Please note that these are maximum lengths for each element, with the exception of the PBS System Cue, which must be :05 (with :01 of black preceding it).

**If programs are packaged to allow for future underwriters or repackaged to remove outdated underwriters, the producer is responsible for providing content related, pre-logo material (and all the costs associated with this) to bring programs to the standard lengths. This material should be positioned after the Website notice and before the production credits.

**If a Top of the Show Tease is not present on a program, the Title/Open should be the first element, immediately followed by the Underwriting Credit Bed.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This manual is a set of "guidelines" and should be treated as such. PBS staff members will continue to consult with producers and provide direct guidance on issues concerning final delivery of programs. Please read through the Red Book carefully and make sure that the members of your production team familiarize themselves with the relevant sections. Updates to the Red Book will occur when information or policies change.
