More Satisfaction with PBS Than
Commercial or Cable Television
PBS also garners much higher ratings of satisfaction
than either commercial television or cable television.
One third say they are “very” satisfied with PBS (34%),
versus one quarter (24%) who feel this way about cable
television and just 16% for commercial television.
When the “somewhat” satisfied ratings are combined
with the “very” satisfied ratings, PBS satisfaction levels
rise to eight in ten Americans (79%), much greater than
the overall satisfaction levels for either cable  television
(64%) or commercial television (63%).
Satisfaction with PBS is high across all demographic
subgroups, with women (83%) being somewhat more
satisfied than men (77%).
