NATIONAL SCIENCE STANDARDS (Grades 5-8)
Science as Inquiry- Content Standard A
Students should develop abilities necessary to do scientific inquiry.
Students should develop an understanding about scientific inquiry.
Life Science - Content Standard C
Students will gain further understanding of the molecular basis of heredity by working  with models of the DNA double helix structure. They will work with a model showing  that DNA is a large polymer formed from subunits of four kinds, and that the chemical  and structural properties of DNA explain how the genetic information that underlies heredity is both encoded in genes and replicated.
