FELICE
ORLICH is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist, specializing
in the area of Autism. Orlich attended the University
of Rochester in New York, where she took her B.A.
in cognitive science in 1985. Orlich obtained
her Ph. D. in psychology at the University of
California, San Diego in 1991. In 1996, she joined
the staff of the Center of Human Development and
Disability (CHDD) at University of Washington
School of Medicine, where she is currently Clinical
Director for the Clinical Training Unit.
Orlich
researches High Functioning Autism/Asperger Syndrome
(HFA/AS). Her clinical focus for intervention
is social skills training, assessment and individual
therapy for kids 6 and older. She also investigates
what are called "co-morbid" disorders, like anxiety
and depression, that can accompany Autism and
Asperger Syndrome.
Orlich
is currently involved in developing innovative
technologies for intervention. One project, called
KidTalk, is a collaboration with Microsoft to
develop an on-line intervention to facilitate
social-communication skills.
The
author of four peer-reviewed publications, Orlich
has spoken widely on Autism, Social skills interventions
for HFA/AS, and neuropsychological correlates
of Autism.
