Kathy's results

Tell us a little about your everyday life:
Born Norwood MA in 1956. Went through the Norwood school system, Then to Northeastern University in Boston. Majored in Physical Therapy. Have worked as a therapist for 24 years in all different settings from acute care hospitals, home care, outpatients and skilled nursing facilities.I now work in nursing home in the short term rehab area. I am very active during the day helping people get out of bed, walk and exercise to return home.
What is your current weight?
151
What did you like and dislike about your particular method of weight loss

I found that it really isn't which diet you go with but how motivated you are individually. I liked the way EDIETS.com motivated you through their challenges and support groups. I also like the diet that they used, it is a balanced diet that includes all the food groups. They have now added the ability to use all the popular diets, with their support, on their web site I hope to continue at my weight and may lose a little more over time. I also now know that I have to exercise at least 2-3 times a week to maintain this weight and eat what I like.

What's the most surprising thing you learned from this experience?
I found that I like food. This and losing weight do not go together. I needed to make up my mind to stick with it and not let my like for something take over my mouth. This is very hard to do. I found I needed to motivate myself by awards other than food. Food is a center for your emotions a lot of the time. You have to stop and think, do I really want this or is it just an emotional fulfillment that I could get elsewhere.
