Donna L. Fender graduated with B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama and started working at the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in 1988 after graduation. Her assignments at JSC include Test Director and Test Manager for Space Simulation Testing (Large Thermal Vacuum chamber testing for hardware including manned testing, Hubble Repair Mission, numerous Freedom NH3 system tests); Project Manager for EHTII (Advanced Regenerative Life Support Test); Deputy Branch Chief of the Systems Test Branch; and TransHab Project Manager.

She has received many awards for her work at NASA including a Certificate of Commendation, Manned Flight Awareness Honor, Silver Snoopy (given by astronauts), and NASA Superior Achievement. Donna's publications include "Manned Testing in a Simulated Space Environment"; European Space Agency Conference on Space Simulation Testing in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
