Thiemo Krink was trained as a computer scientist (MSc) at the Universities of Erlangen and Hamburg, Germany (1988-1994). As a MSc student, he realised two interdisciplinary projects on computer modelling of animal behaviour (diploma thesis) in close collaboration with biologists at the Dept. of Zoology in Oxford, UK. He continued his research at the Institute of Biological Science at Aarhus University, Denmark, where he received his PhD degree in 1997. Afterwards he became research assistant professor in biology at Aarhus University and initiated two projects on spider robots and educational multimedia software. Since August 1998, he has been working as research assistant professor in computer science at BRICS International PhD School, Aarhus University, where he is concerned with biological concepts for applications in computer science.
