The Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research a comprehensive overview of eating disorders as well as Q&A focused on eating disorders in midlife, featuring Second Opinion panelist Donald McAlpine, M.D., a psychiatrist and the director of the eating disorders services at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.

National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the largest eating disorder-specific nonprofit in the U.S. The organization's website provides extensive information about eating disorders, treatment resources, and support for families of those who have eating disorders.
National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) is a nonprofit that provides a wide variety of programs for the entire field of eating disorders, including consumer advocacy, counseling, educational programs, a referral list, research, and more.

PBS brings a real-world perspective to eating disorders in the companion websites of two highly acclaimed documentaries:

  • Dying to Be Thin, from the NOVA series, investigates the causes, complexities, and treatments for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.
  • Perfect Illusions: Disorders and the Family, hosted by Lauren Hutton, focuses on the role of family in the evolution of eating disorders and subsequent treatment and  recovery.

Something Fishy provides a wealth eating disorders information along with and diverse collection of links an automated treatment finder, and other helpful features.
About-Face a San Francisco-based non-profit, takes no prisoners in its enlightening and entertaining efforts to combat negative and distorted images of women in the media.
