Shakespeare purchases a new home

William Shakespeare's new house, Stratford-upon-Avon
William Shakespeare's new house,
May: William purchases his own house, New Place, Church Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon, one of the largest properties in town. The late-fifteenth-century half-timbered home was semi-derelict, but enjoyed a frontage of 60 feet, which included 5 bay windows. Other notable features to the property were its well, 10 fireplaces, and 180-foot-long garden.

The house probably cost him around £120.00 (approximately $213.00).
