William Herbert born

The son of wealthy and influential patrons of poets, William Herbert in his teenage years is most likely the inspiration for a series of Sonnets written by William Shakespeare. The sonnets, written a year after the death of William's son Hamnet, seem to allude to a love triangle that included himself, Herbert and the mysterious Dark Lady.
