A Villainous King

Ancient history is all very well but you can't help thinking that what people would really like to see is something more recent.

There was a King of England a hundred years ago, a blood-thirsty monster of a man in constant struggle against plotters. You know a good story when you see one. You also know a good villain; a nephew-murdering hunchback of an overlord is definitely in that category.

A Weak and Incompetent King

250 years ago England had another King with a good story; not an outright villain, but a weak and incompetent leader. He was a man better suited to enjoying a privileged lifestyle than waging necessary war. He eventually loses his power to a corrupt government.
