| Governor Bradford March Composed for orchestra, the Governor Bradford March was completed on May 24, 1948. It was first performed June 3, 1948 as an extra by the Boston Pops, with Arthur Fiedler conducting. This march was named after Massachusetts Governor Robert Bradford. This work was not published during Anderson's lifetime, though he did list it on the catalog of works that he prepared in the mid 1960's. In 1997 a score for a band arrangement of this work was found in the composer's hand in the music archives of the Harvard University Band. The first known performance of this band arrangement of the Governor Bradford March was made in 1999 with Thomas Everett conducting the Harvard University Wind Ensemble. |
