Song of Jupiter

Composed simultaneously for orchestra, with optional chorus, and band with optional chorus, Song of Jupiter was completed in the summer of 1951. It is a transcription of "Where're you walk" from "Semele" by Handel, with words by William Congreve. Song of Jupiter was published before being performed and the first performance is unknown. It is to be performed by either orchestra with optional chorus or band with optional chorus. When the chorus performs with the orchestra or band, the solo trumpet is omitted. The first recording of Song of Jupiter was by Frederick Fennell and the Eastman-Rochester Pops Orchestra .
