Composed for orchestra, Mother's Whistler was completed on May 2, 1940. Its first performance is unknown. The score was found in the Boston Pops music library in 1980. Since it was not listed in the catalog prepared by the composer in the mid 1960's, this work can be presumed to have been withdrawn by the composer. The work has not been published.
