Aristarchus era astrónomo y matemático Griego, nació en la isla de Samos en Grecia. Fue la primera persona que presentó un argumento explícito para un modelo heliocéntrico del Sistema Solar, en cual el Sol, no la Tierra, era el centro del universo conocido. Aristarchus es también conocido como el Copérnico Griego.
