Correct English in Michigan

Correct English/Michigan Respondents

These results are meant to give you a sense of how others involved in social science research rated dialect areas of the United States for correctness. These results do not provide a direct comparison but are meant to give you a sense of how we view each other. This map shows how people from Southeastern Michigan rated areas for the CORRECTNESS of their English. The map shown here reflects average scores taken from a large number of respondents, so you will not find extreme scores at either end of the scale, but, for example, many people in Michigan must have given their own state a "10" for "correctness," since, as the "Michigan Correct" map shows, the average score was in the 8-8.99 range.
