ASIAN AMERICANS is a new five-part series examining one of the fastest-growing racial and ethnic groups in the United States. Considered the most ambitious television chronicle of the Asian American story, the highly anticipated documentary series will explore their role in shaping the country’s history and identity. Through expert storytelling and historical accounts, the series examines the first wave of Asian immigrants in the 1850s, identity politics during the social and cultural turmoil of the twentieth century, and modern refugee crises in a globally connected world.

The series premieres May 2020 during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and is led by a team of Asian American filmmakers, including Academy Award-nominated producer Renee Tajima-Peña (Who Killed Vincent Chin?, No Más Bebés).
