The amount of time required to prepare a single hour of video content for use in COVE Pro will depend on the workflow that best suits a station's available resources. The following is an example from one of the Pilot Stations (KCPT) of the breakdown of resources and time required for curating a single hour of content for their video portal:
Prepping video and related content files (1.5 - 2 hours)
Work done by Interactive Producer
1 hour to encode video
30-45 minutes to get chapter start and end times and pull other files (thumbnails, transcripts, etc.)
Metadata and resource collection - 1 hour
Work done by Program Producer
Create graphics - 1 hour
Work done by Designer
Entering Everything into COVE Admin tool - 15 minutes
Work done by Interactive Producer
Total: approximately 3 1/2 hours for an hour program.
