Raising Readers: Ready to Spark Word Power

Reach and teach struggling readers through an engaging, collaborative experience. Explore different ways to teach decoding and build vocabulary, comprehension, and reading fluency skills — all designed to motivate and transform kids into confident readers and writers. Explore hip, innovative songs, raps, videos, games, and activities from The Electric Company® and learn how they can motivate and engage at-risk kids in school, daycare and after-school settings. Internet access for children required for course activities. Unless otherwise indicated, this course is not usually available for graduate credit.
Classroom Link-Access to students recommended. PBS Classroom Link courses ask learners to implement lessons with their class or with a small group of students (options for learners without access to students are available).
