Teaching Phonemic Awareness and Phonics

Course Description:

This course will introduce you to the various stages of literacy development and give you opportunities to practice assessing the performance of budding young readers. Through research-based readings, practical case studies, video examples, and peer discussions, you will learn to design instructional activities that strengthen students' skills in phonemic and phonological awareness, letter-sound correspondence, and phonograms.

Note: This is a facilitated course. Learners submit coursework and participate in asynchronous discussions throughout the course term, and receive graded feedback.
