Supporting ELLs: Vocabulary Development in Grades PreK-3

Course Description:

Discover the practices that best promote vocabulary development for English language learners. Learn why vocabulary development is so crucial to ELLs' success in school. Explore the similarities and differences between the strategies for teaching vocabulary development for ELLs and those for native English speakers and the role that knowledge of the student's primary language plays in successful English vocabulary development.

This course is only offered to groups of 12 or more learners.

Note: This is a facilitated course. Learners submit coursework and participate in asynchronous discussions throughout the course term, and receive graded feedback.
