Contemporary Issues - Using Technology for Discussion, Debate, and Problem Solving in the Middle School Curriculum

Course Description:

Technology can help students develop debate and problem-solving skills. This course introduces new strategies for incorporating current events, controversial issues, and pop culture into the curriculum. As a final task, create your own current events lesson plan that uses technology to foster understanding, discussion, and debate. If you want to bring contemporary issues into your social studies, humanities, or science classroom, this is your course!

Note: This is a facilitated course. Learners submit coursework and participate in asynchronous discussions throughout the course term, and receive graded feedback.
