Evaluating and Organizing Internet Resources and Content

Course Description:

Web 2.0 is changing the way we use the Internet. In this course, you will develop skills needed to prepare students for evaluating and organizing Internet resources and content using Web 2.0 tools. These new "literacy" skills give students the foundation for effective Internet use and support their collaborative, meaningful, safe work on research and other projects. Learn the skills and strategies students need to become digital citizens. The course also covers how to organize Web sites and their content through the use of free online tools. For the course project, you'll develop a curriculum guide on preparing students for Web research, integrating the use of Web 2.0 tools, and create an online portal complete with resources for teachers, students and parents.

Classroom Link-Access to students recommended. PBS Classroom Link courses ask learners to implement lessons with their class or with a small group of students (options for learners without access to students are available.
