Where can I get "Questioning Techniques for the Classroom"?
One of the resources available to teachers is a list of questions designed to help teachers guide their students' thought processes. Good questions promote problem-solving skills, and an effective teacher works to ask questions that encourage student cognition and reflection. Questions such as "What is the answer?" require only short answers that don't necessitate student deliberation, but questions like "Can you explain how you did that?" require students to think about their work and reflect on their own thought.
You can download these from http://www.pbs.org/teachers/resourceroundups/, print and laminate the two-page list of questions in order to create a handy bookmark that is easily accessible. Reading, Mathematics, and Science are available. Also available is 'tips for evaluating internet resources'.
