ISTE Certificate Program: Capstones

What is the PBS TeacherLine/ISTE Certificate Program?
A facilitated, online learning experience that allows teachers to demonstrate their knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS•T). It consists of the TECH401 Capstone Introduction: Planning a Technology Portfolio course, and then two 12-week courses, TECH410 Capstone I: Developing a NETS•T Technology Portfolio and TECH415 Capstone II: Proficient Use of Technology with the NETS•T.

Who should participate in the PBS TeacherLine/ISTE Certificate Program?
The PBS TeacherLine/ISTE Capstone Certificate Program is designed for teachers who have experience integrating computer-based technologies into their classroom practice and want to earn certification in the ISTE NETS for Teachers while further developing their knowledge and skills.

What can I expect as a participant in the PBS TeacherLine/ISTE Certificate Program?
Program participants can expect to:

  • Review performance rubrics to clarify their expectations.
  • Review examples of classroom projects that integrate technology.
  • Read and review professional articles and related resources.
  • Exchange ideas and strategies with other program participants.
  • Share and reflect on digital products that demonstrate the standards in practice in their classrooms.
  • Develop and publish a multimedia portfolio of their exemplary classroom projects.
  • Work closely with a coach and other program participants to exchange feedback and improve their work.
