Measure the temperatures of ice water and lukewarm water with a thermometer. Predict what will happen to the thermometer when measuring something cold and when measuring something hot.

I really like the idea of this lesson plan. It has the kids interacted and in a lab setting. I think kids truly learn more in a hands on lesson over a lecture style lesson. Also the video to go along with it seems like a great thing to show them so that they get a better understanding of what it is they are learning about in class rather than the teacher just standing in the front of the class and explaining. Showing the video and then having a class discussion about what they think and what they learned would be an excellent participation activity.
