I have heard and been told many times "just plug your nose and you won't be able to taste it." i never thought it was true because i had it in my head that no matter what i was going to be able to taste that horrible vegetable going into my mouth. I feel if i was taught this lesson in class that smell really does affect our taste, it would have made my mom's life a lot easier when it came time to dinner. This is something a kid goes home and does and tells their parents "I learned if i hold my nose i can't taste it" and they show pride in being able to finish a food they would have never tried before.
