In a democratic society it is important to teach students at a young age that their voice matters and that they have the right to state their opinion and vote in their favor. Whether is a private voting or by a raise of hands- voicing their opinions opens doors for them so that they later on are not shy and scared to state their opinion in fear that they will be teased and taunted. Regardless of what their opinion is- students need to feel comfortable voicing it.
