- Barney
- "Play for Exercise"
Whitney, Beth and Scott enjoy playing catch with the ball, as well as leapfrog, but they're surprised to learn from Barney that they are exercising while they play. Soon more children join them for a game of rope. Baby Bop loves dancing and skipping - and thinks she will like hang gliding when she grows up, and BJ loves basketball. But everyone loves giggling and wiggling as they sing "The Giggle, Gaggle, Wiggle Dance." A rain shower moves the fun and games indoors, and the kids learn that you can have fun while you exercise indoors as well.

By Laurent de Brunhoff
Published September 2002 by Harry N. Abrams
Babar presents fifteen yoga positions and stretches as well as breathing exercises with step-by-step instructions and illustrations. Young and old students will enjoy the humor of Brunhoff's narrative and pictures. He mirrors landmark buildings and natural formations with elephants in yoga postures. They will benefit from the exercise too. - Toddlerobics: Animal Fun
By Zita Newcome
Published August 1999 by Candlewick Press
Set in rhyming couplets, this picture book encourages children to waddle, scuttle, bend, squat, jump, hop, stomp, gallop, flutter, swoop, and more as they imitate a menagerie of animals. A fun way for preschoolers to exercise and develop coordination.
*As most PBS children's programs offer one year extended taping rights for teachers, please feel free to tape them now and save them for use in your classroom during the school year.
