Road Trip to the White House

Road Trip to the White House is a single player, online, quiz-style game. The object of the game is to correctly answer questions about terms and concepts related to Presidential Elections. These terms and concepts are defined in a glossary that can be opened in the game and in animation videos that open each level at the “Drive In.” These are the same digital definition videos and glossary resources that are available outside the game in this PBS LearningMedia Election Collection website.

How to Play

Players must choose the correct answer and drive toward that answer - displayed on a highway sign - before time runs out. Players earn "STARS" for viewing the animation videos and correctly answering a number of questions. "STARS" and other bonuses can be found along the road. At the end of each level, a player can cash in the "STARS" for car customizations and upgrades.

• New users please register. Returning users can simply login and play.
• Select PLAY to enter the game and then select your level. After you complete a level, the next level will be unlocked. You will be brought back to the MAIN MENU when you complete a level or when time runs out on your selected level.
• Use the UP arrow key to go forward. Use the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to steer your car.
• In each level, stop first at the “Drive In” to learn more about the terms and concepts covered in that level.
• Green directional arrows in the game will help keep you on the road and direct you to the next question.
• Questions and answers will appear on overhead signs. Select the correct answer to a question and drive under that sign.
• If you get stuck, look in the Glossary for the answer. Many of the questions come form terms and concepts that are defined here. You can access the Glossary from every level by clicking the letter G in the lower right hand corner.
• If you are running short on time, look for GAS CANS along the way to fuel up your car. You can pick up more STARS along the road too.
• Take a look at the different rewards you can earn throughout the game.
• Stop at the Garage to cash in your STARS for car customizations and upgrades.
• Check out the standings on the leaderboard.
