Lights, Camera, Action! In honor of the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards^{®}, try out this month's movie math activities.
In "Jumping Out Of Windows," students use measuring, multiplication, division, and remainders to understand situations involving movie stunts. Optional problems for more advanced grades deal with area and volume.
"All About Film" helps students demonstrate the ability to apply the use of measuring, multiplication, division, and fractions to understanding what motion picture film is and how it is used.
Finally, "The Geometry of Lenses" encourages students to apply geometry, areas, ratios, and square roots to understand important principles in photography.
