Sid the Science Kid
The Sid the Science Kid websites for kids, parents, and teachers (this site!) are designed to further develop children's natural wonder and build a strong foundation for early science exploration. Online and offline activities motivate children to practice and internalize scientific methodology: "Observe! Compare! Contrast! Describe!" The complementary sites are crafted to support a collaborative learning experience between child and adult and offers features that help adult mentors to support and participate in the child's learning process.
Use the navigation at the right to explore general information about Sid the Science Kid from PBS Parents or click into the Video-Enhanced Activities to find learning ideas for your classroom. From the Resources tab, you can access a glossary of preschool definitions and examples, links to the Sid the Science Kid videos available on the kids site, information on the special vaccine episode, additional educational materials for early education professionals, and FAQs.
