State of the Union Education Roundtable

2011 State of the Union Education Roundtable

On Tuesday, January 25th, President Obama presented the State of the Union address, reporting on the state of education in the country and outlining his agenda for education reform. Two days after the address, the White House hosted a State of the Union Education Roundtable with Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. PBS Teachers was asked to solicit questions from teachers about the education issues addressed in the State of the Union, and a sampling of the questions were then presented to Secretary Duncan during the Education Roundtable.

We would like thank all those who submitted or voted on questions, sharing your concerns about the state of education and offering ideas for us to share with Secretary Duncan. In all you provided over 500 questions and nearly 11,000 votes for this event.
