Kathy Rusert has over 14 years teaching experience. She has taught language arts and social studies classes in grades 1-3 and is currently teaching science to fifth and sixth graders at Acorn School in western Arkansas. Her most recent honors include American Legion Teacher of the Year, Walmart Teacher of the Year, Reading Renaissance Model Classroom, McDonald's Teacher of the Year, Soil and Conservation Teacher of the Year, and Arkansas' Excellence in Teaching Economics award. Her classes have been featured in NEA Today, Teaching Tolerance and Progressive Farmer magazines. Kathy earned her B.S. degree in education from Arkansas Tech University and has completed graduate coursework in education and middle school science.
