Do you incorporate digital media into your language arts and literacy lessons? Are you familiar with PBS KIDS reading and language programs and online resources? Would you be interested in sharing your ideas with other PBS Teachers in an upcoming Webinar? If so, you could be a presenter in our July 2009 Webinar.
As part of our Webinar series, PBS Teachers and Classroom 2.0 will host a Webinar on July 9th from 8-9 p.m. EDT focused on using PBS KIDS reading and language arts programming and online resources to engage students and reinforce literacy skills. Educational advisors from PBS KIDS shows will share information about the development and educational goals of the on-air programming and the classroom resources available to extend the learning. In addition, we'd like to invite 1 or 2 current classroom or homeschool educators to share videos or photos of successful projects using PBS KIDS resources. If you have great ideas and results with using PBS KIDS programming and resources in the classroom, please consider sharing them with other PBS Teachers through this special Webinar opportunity.
If selected as a presenter, you will need to be available for 2-3 hours of consultation and preparation prior to the event and from 7:15-9:15 PM EDT on Thursday, July 9th, and have access to a computer with Internet access and the ability to use the Elluminate Platform, as well as a microphone or phoneline that can be used simultaneously with the computer.
Are you ready to share your idea? Log in to PBS Teachers. From there, click the link in the New & Noteworthy section at the top left of the landing page to take you to the discussion thread on this topic. In the discussion thread, please describe your project and provide a link to supporting video or photographs showcasing the successful implementation.
Staff from PBS Teachers and PBS KIDS will review your ideas and select 1 or 2 teachers to present these ideas in more detail during the Webinar. Descriptions must be submitted to the PBS Teachers site no later than May 15, 2009. Selected teachers will be notified of a decision by May 22, 2009.
PBS Teachers LIVE! is a series of FREE monthly webinars featuring leading education technology experts, authors, or producers of PBS programs who will share ideas on using digital media to engage students in rich learning experiences.
